I recently celebrated my 10th year at MCA Connect, and I’ve seen a lot. The biggest story that I must share is about the people that work here. The group of people I work with are so dedicated. We care about each other like a family. That’s why I’ve been here for 10 years. I’ve worn a lot of different hats and started when MCA Connect had maybe 50 employees.
I found my way to MCA Connect because the Marketing Manager at MCA Connect was a client of mine at my previous job. I wasn’t being fully utilized in my previous position, and she noticed that. She asked if I would be interested in a new position that was to be created at MCA Connect, which at the time was inside sales. This was something I had never considered because I was in an advertising and marketing role. The position at MCA Connect was primarily direct sales, so I was a little uncomfortable, but excited for the opportunity to learn something new.
The more hats that I wore, the more interest I had in various positions at MCA Connect. The ability to move positions and take on more roles was always something that my managers allowed me to do. They wanted me to be able to grow, and they were interested in my interests. When MCA acquired a CRM practice, I went to the team and told them that I was passionate about CRM and would like to transition to that line of the business. They completely encouraged me and gave me the tools I needed to be successful. I’ve been in CE (CRM) Managed Services for about four years now.
From the very beginning, I knew the people that I worked with were amazing. They are hard workers. I’ve never worked for a company where the people work this hard. On the Managed Services side, sometimes our clients don’t have issues from nine to five. They might have emergencies, or we may have to work late or have meetings earlier than our standard working hours. At any given time, if I’m online for any one of those circumstances, I can guarantee there are 20 other people online doing the same thing. The people are what set this company apart from any other company I’ve ever worked for. We are all working to make our clients successful, and that makes us successful in return.
There is always a new challenge. I learn something new every day, and I’m growing constantly. Some things can become routine, but our clients are unique, and some have issues that we have never seen before. Being challenged is what gets me excited to go into work every day.
Jennifer’s Golden Advice:
My advice? Do your best always! Give 110 percent all the time, because you never know who you are going to be serving. That along with the connections we have, leads to opportunities that find us.
