MICROSOFT IMPACT

$7 million over five years

Their challenge

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Barry-Wehmiller is a capital equipment and engineering solutions firm with more than 12,000 team members across the globe.

After a series of acquisitions, including 10 in the last five years, the company needed to consolidate disjointed ERP systems across 80 divisions. They sought a configurable and adaptable platform that would allow them to:

  • Standardize ERP systems across their diverse business units
  • Support future growth, mergers, and acquisition activity
  • Innovate and digitize their products

Barry-Wehmiller initially began exploring Microsoft Dynamics with another partner, but soon realized they needed deeper global supply chain expertise. Familiar with our industry expertise and strategic implementation methodology, Microsoft brought in MCA Connect, 2x Microsoft Partner of the Year for Dynamics 365 Supply Chain, to win the deal.

Our solution

Barry-Wehmiller was using Infor XA at many business units but realized the system lacks the functionality they need for future growth. To show the advantages of Dynamics, Microsoft and MCA Connect utilized storytelling and customized product demos to help users visualize their daily routines and meet goals.

To equip BW with diverse global capabilities and the power of a unified intelligent Cloud platform, we are implementing Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain, and Project Operations throughout a multi-year project, going live in 2028.

In addition, Barry-Wehmiller recently implemented MCA Connect’s manufacturing intelligence platform, Inspire Platform®, to gain visibility across disparate plants / applications until their Dynamics 365 solution is fully implemented. Inspire Platform® will also help streamline their integration activities for future acquisitions.

Expected results

The anticipated Microsoft impact of the Dynamics 365 solution is $7 million over five years. With it, Barry-Wehmiller will:

  • Operate all business entities using a cloud-based ERP solution
  • Streamline IT infrastructure and unify 80 systems
  • Gain high configurability and adaptability for continued growth through mergers and acquisitions
  • Easily move to shared services for finance, supply chain, and engineering
  • Improve global visibility to inventory, demand, and operational efficiency
  • Achieve economies of scale via shared services in the areas of finance, supply chain, engineering, and more
