Their challenge

Shyft Group is an aftermarket automotive manufacturer. With a diverse range of commercial, retail, upfit, and service specialty vehicle brands, the company faced several key challenges.

Fragmented CRM Systems: Shyft struggled with disjointed customer relationship management due to inconsistent systems across its brands. While some brands used Salesforce, others lacked any centralized platform.

Lack of Unified Sales Approach: Shyft’s brands sell to the same customers but lacked a shared view across brands. As a result, sales teams couldn’t fully understand customer needs or even see who had worked with what accounts.

Manual and Inefficient Processes: Sharing customer information across brands required Shyft to rely on time-consuming manual processes. This lack of automation reduced visibility and limited the ability to identify and act on sales opportunities.

Our solution

MCA Connect began working with Shyft last year, following a recommendation from Microsoft’s Craig Dulman. Our team developed a time-tracking tool using Power Platform that enabled Shyft’s engineers to easily log hours spent on each project. This tool provided management with valuable insights into engineering activities, enabling more accurate and profitable project pricing. View our low-code flipbook to learn more about this project and others.

Impressed by our industry expertise and Microsoft knowledge, Shyft chose MCA Connect to implement Dynamics 365 Sales.

Shyft is committed to the Microsoft stack and replacing Salesforce. Our team is implementing Dynamics 365 Sales for seven of Shyft’s brands with an estimated go live of September 2024. The project scope includes:

  • Leads
  • Opportunities
  • Products and product families
  • Goals
  • Sales mobile app
  • Power BI reporting

Expected results

With a unified CRM system, Shyft will have better visibility across brands and customer activities, enabling more effective cross-selling and upselling. They are also well-positioned to take advantage of Microsoft’s innovations with data and AI.

What’s next?

After implementing Dynamics 365 Sales, Shyft will explore adding Dynamics 365 Customer Service and MCA Connect’s WarrantyCONNECT, built on Power Platform, for their electric vehicle Blue Arc brand. There’s also potential to expand into Field Service and add more Power Platform users.
